History

The parish church of St Mary Kenardington straddles the "Ancient" or "Saxon" shoreline on the periphery of what is now Romney Marsh.
The church stands on the site of what seems to have been a small Saxon fort, the remains of its earthworks now largely ploughed out of sight.
St. Mary, Kenardington continues to serve this small parish of 250 adults and 50 children for the purpose for which it was first built.
